Histological examinations such as these typically require multiple, time-consuming steps to obtain similar results as the tissues must be sliced into sections of only a few microns in thickness. However, recent advancements in LED technology have made it possible to use simple equipment while still limiting the penetration of light into biological samples to very shallow, surface depths. Since no special preparation is needed, biological tissues could potentially be stained in this manner in an operating room to confirm a diagnosis in minutes instead of hours or days.2020-03-10T17:06:16+00:00Phillip McClellanAmanda Koziurad8cad79289ca6f3a766facb6fa0fbb11898df036
