Louis Ross On The Transmigration of Souls ND Mixed media
On The Transmigration of Souls [is inspired by] the 2001 composition for orchestra and choir by American composer John Adams. It was written after 9/11. I first heard it performed at Severance Hall by the Cleveland Orchestra and Choir. It is the last of many contemplative altarpieces I have done. [This work is also influenced by] Matthias Grunewal's Isenheim Altarpiece, 1512-1516.
