Immigration
Nonprofits dedicated to immigration often have four areas of focus: changing legislation, employment, education, and essential services. Controversies in immigration arise when considering what forms of immigration are considered illegal, and the perceived harms of allowing many immigrants into the U.S. without restriction, vs the severe dangers that many restrictions impose on such immigrants, especially potential refugees. These controversies lead to fighting pertaining to legislation, whether to make it harder for immigrants to legally immigrate to the United States or easier to do so, fighting involving employment, whether they deserve to find jobs in a country that is not necessarily theirs, and fighting over their rights to education and healthcare.
