The Universe is a Lonely Place is a game that allows you to explore the solar system and choose planets to visit as an alien. As an individual alien exploring the vastness of space, the player's physical loneliness echoes the distinct, visually-engaging textual narratives of someone suffering from loneliness when visiting each planet. These narratives describe the challenges of performing every-day interactions as someone suffering from mental health disorders such as chronic loneliness. The main difficulty in overcoming these challenges is the stimatisation of mental health challenges within society that present barriers to receiving help and support. In this sense, this game serves to portray the hardships of living with a stigmatised mental health identity.
