It is a way to separate RNA, protein molecules, and primarily DNA fragments by their size along with their electrical charge. An electrical current moves the molecules across agarose gel, which is stained with a dye so that the fragments are visible under UV light. Electrophoresis has a very important role in our everyday lives. It is a vital tool in DNA fingerprinting as well as detecting proteins and genetic variations that can lead to harmful diseases. Currently, gel electrophoresis is most often used in the fields of immunology, forensic science, molecular biology, and biochemistry.2024-02-06T21:30:28+00:0017Srila MunukutlaCase Western Reserve UniversityJulia Teran9aca9c408841ff28b321d7128a1e5c918a151e1d
