Guilford House Exterior East Side
This cheerful house, then, will be the home of the women in the first flush of youthful grace and attractiveness, in the time of their bright-hued enthusiasm, of their springing aspirations, soaring like the lark and singing sweet, of their double awakening to the sternness and glory of living.
-Mrs. Worcester R. Warner, Guilford Dedication, 1892

Students Talk in Mather House's Smoking Room
On the second floor there will be social rooms for the classes and a few private rooms for students who may reside in the Hall. These social rooms are not so large that they will tempt the students to spend all their hours in them rather than in the quiet study room below. They are for conversation and for rest.
