Prejudice in Gone Home- Quotation Practice Group 2

Regarding agency in Gone Home, Reed et al. describe how the game promotes sympathy through limiting the player's influence over the story. Reed et al. comment, “The game asks the player to confront prejudice without any ability via in-game mechanics to resolve it” (130). This example of limiting agency in the game Gone Home mirrors the emotions and situation that Sam feels as she lives in that household. We as the player are unable to do anything to help in the same way that there wasn't a lot that she could've done to help herself, resorting to running from home.
