Everything is going to be OK

"Everything is going to be OK" incorporates satirical texts and ironic plays on words to make the player uncover the themes of each passage. The bright and pixelated artwork of the story represents the disorderly and illogical character of anxiety. These images showcase the confused and absurd emotions accompanying anxious thinking. For example, this image shows a critique of the anxiety that comes with asking for help. The bunny on the left needs help and cannot help himself, yet the bunny on the right is oblivious and ignorant and tells the bunny to try to help himself. People constantly face anxiety regarding the idea of asking for help since a lot of people do not choose to acknowledge mental health and the issues that come with it.
"However, others—such as experiences of caring, heartbreak, and even a kind of intimate queer entanglement—demonstrate that already contained within the marginalizing rhetoric of empathy lies the potential for envisioning alternative and more socially-just ways of how video games allow players to feel with and for others." (Ruberg 55) Historically, game storylines have undervalued or oversimplified complex emotions like grief, empathy, and compassion. This constrained portrayal may fall short of capturing people's emotions, which is why "Everything is going to be OK" is different. The story demonstrates the complexity of emotions and adds depth to the connections between mental health and how they can affect people. The tale incorporates various themes relating to fantasy, such as the symbolism of including white rabbits, which have often been portrayed as anxious and easily frightened animals. Overall, "Everything Is Going to Be OK" provides a fantasy-filled demonstration of mental health while also serving as therapy through its depiction of mental health and its struggles.
