Challenges to Philanthropy

How COVID-19 is Affecting Partners in Health

What is Partners in Health (PIH) doing to combat the COVID-19 pandemic?

Here is PIH's Global response: (Source is Partners in Health)
  1. "Protect patients, communities, and staff against COVID-19 through the initiation of safe testing, triage, and isolation at PIH-supported health facilities."
  2. "Provide dignified, high-quality treatment for people with COVID-19, and all patients at PIH-supported facilities."
  3. "Accompany Ministry of Health colleagues to support government response in each care delivery site and advocate for long-term health systems funding globally."
  4. "Mobilize strong contact tracing systems via PIH’s network of skilled community health workers."

COVID-19 has had a massive impact on Partners in Health. They are seeking more and more donations to help the countries they treat because they now have to use some of their donations that help in general, basic treatments to help those at risk for the coronavirus. It has been a massive challenge because Partners in Health (PIH) is searching for more money to almost double the work in these poor countries. Not only are they fighting the injustice of no access to healthcare but also fighting the COVID-19 pandemic on top of that.
