Partners in Health (PIH) is a global nonprofit healthcare organization that aims to restore social justice by bringing quality health care to the most vulnerable around the world. Founded by Dr. Paul Farmer in 1987, PIH's Mission is "to provide a preferential option for the poor in health care." Partners in Health also "collaborates with national governments to provide care and strengthen public health systems in areas including cancer and chronic disease, child health, emergency response, HIV/AIDS, maternal health, mental health, and tuberculosis" (Partners in Health).
