Marginalized creators have tried to remove mechanisms for hierarchical progression in an attempt to promote inclusion, while traditional adventure game creators defend their gaming mechanisms to preserve action-driven engagement. This bilateral tension in the gaming community reflects on an overall issue of prioritizing enjoyment over inclusion at large in society.
