Dorothy, Jean, Maura, and ItaCOAR Children's Village is a foster-care home in El Salvador founded by Cleveland priest Fr. Ken Myers in 1980 to care for refugees from the Salvadoran Civil War. Today, the residents of COAR draw inspiration from the words of St. Romero, "Aspire not to have more, but to be more." The children’s artwork, images they themselves have chosen to recreate, reflects the daily ways in which the sacrifice made by Dorothy, Jean, Maura, and Ita still impacts them today as they go about their routines. That they have somewhere safe to rest their heads is a living tribute to these four brave women and to St. Romero, voice of those without a voice.
