Digital Research Process (Peculiar Nzegbuna)
Before starting this assignment, I was not too sure who to research about. In this list of organizations and people, I only know a total of about ten mediocrely well, which was why choosing was harder than expected. At the end I chose to research Ada Wright. The name jumped at me because it sounded familiar but I could not put a pin on when and how I heard the name. I thought a street was named after her in Chicago at first, but it was someone else. From the skills I attained from using the library resources last semester, I went onto the online database and searched up Ada Wright. Two resources on Jstor appeared. Next, I took the search onto Google using the key terms: Ada Wright, primary, and history. The same Jstor document on the online database appeared on after the Google search, so I decided to use it.
The more I read on about Ada Wright, just on Wikipedia to start, I realized where and when I heard that name. It was related to the Scottsboro Trials. I chose the posters made by the Communist Party in 1932, in order to assist in conveying Ada Wright's story to the world, because from all the history classes I have taken in this country, the Comminist party has always had a negative connotation, I felt it would be interesting to know more about how they helped with the trial despite their methods being controversial.
