Preferences and Shared-Decisions Concerning Pre-Dialysis Treatment in Older African Americans with Advanced Chronic Kidney Disease

Tyrone Hamler (Social Welfare)

Freedman Student Fellow 2018-2019

Hamler intends to research kidney disease among older African American adults. He seeks to understand patient preferences concerning pre-dialysis decision-making. By examining chronic kidney disease and decision-making among this group, Hamler will contribute to a decision-making conceptual framework that seeks to include the role of nephrology social work in pre-dialysis intervention with advanced chronic kidney disease.
