The religiously involved groups' missions are centered around providing for those in need and putting others before themselves. Well known faith based organizations include Hope International, The Salvation Army, and American Jewish World Service. Despite their good intentions, faith-based philanthropy has faced many challenges as religious participation decreases and diversifies. Along with these long-term challenges, the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic on these groups has proved to be a formidable opponent against their intentions. These faith-based charities have had to fight hard and come up with intuitive solutions to ensure that their organizations last for the foreseeable future.
