According to their webpage, "m2m is working towards the following United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): helping end the HIV/AIDS epidemic, ensuring good health, well-being, and decent work opportunities for everyone, and achieving gender equality by 2030". Their main area of focus is in Africa.
M2M Mission Statement: "Our mission is to impact the health of mothers by putting them at the heart of improving reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health. Our Mentor Mother Model empowers mothers living with HIV, through education and employment, as role models to help other women access essential services and medical care." M2M was started in 2001 in the height of the HIV crisis in South Africa. Now, M2M "now operates at hundreds of health centres and communities in ten African nations, and has reached over 11 million pregnant women, new mothers, and children" (mothers2mothers).
