Cleveland College
Cleveland College was founded in 1925 by Western Reserve University and Case School of Applied Science to provide education for adult learners. The College provided both degree and non-degree programs in credit and non-credit classes. As stated in an early catalog, "Education has, in truth, become a lifelong process. The individual or the community that fails to recognize this fact will not only lose much of the richness, beauty, and joy of life, but will also fall hopelessly behind in the economic struggle."
In 1946/47, Cleveland College enrolled over 12,000 part-time and full-time students in three downtown locations. In 1926 the enrollment was 2058 and tuition was $10 per credit. In 1954 the enrollment was 5466 and tuition was $20 per credit.
