When Rivers Were Trails - Father and Daughter Image

This image illustrates an example of another Indigenous family struggling to survive and adapt after the settlers forcefully removed them from their home using various forms of media elements, such as proximity, color, and background. This is meaningful because it emphasizes how the expulsion from these individuals' homes has detrimentally impacted them. With the characters' sunken-in facial expressions and Western clothing, we can see the emotional toll it has taken on them to be stripped of their culture and forced to assimilate.
