The 27th annual 24-hour Science-Fiction Film Marathon was held at Strosacker Auditorium with an admission of $25.00. The film, Metropolis, was shown – as it was during the 1st Sci- Fi Film Marathon in 1976. Admission then was $1.

The Village @115 opened. It was the first new student housing in over 35 years.

The 14th annual Faculty-Staff Talent Show was held to benefit the student emergency loan fund.

2001
Engineers' Week featured special events highlighting science and engineering. An engineering challenges carnival was held with hands-on contests such as wooden airplanes, toothpick towers, and racing veggie vehicles.

2002
The 27th annual 24-hour Science-Fiction Film Marathon was held at Strosacker Auditorium with an admission of $25.00. The film, Metropolis, was shown – as it was during the 1st Sci- Fi Film Marathon in 1976. Admission then was $1.

2003
Edward M. Hundert was inaugurated as CWRU’s sixth president.

2004
CWRU hosted a nationally televised vice presidential debate between John Edwards and Dick Cheney.

2005
The Village @115 opened. It was the first new student housing in over 35 years.

2006
The site for the new Alumni House chosen. This will be a home base for all alumni.

2007
Barbara R. Snyder was inaugurated as CWRU's seventh president.

2008
The Flora Stone Mather Alumnae Association dissolved after 114 years of existence.

2009
University concluded its year-long celebration of the "Year of Darwin," which saw events celebrating the 150th anniversary of the publication of Darwin's, The Origin of Species.
